MĀCIUHQUI no matter, nonetheless, however that may be / aunque sea tal, o tal cual es (M), no importa, aunque (T) [(1)Tp. 165, (3)Zp.17,166]. This shotened form of MĀZO IUHQUI has undergone further syncopation in T, Z and other modern Nahuatl speech communities, and in the form MĀZQUI or MĀZQUE has become a conventional leave-taking phrase in some localities.
